Philip had his show at Deitch Projects. It was awesome and I saw tons of people that I haven't seen in a million years who were like, "where have you been???" and I was like, "duh, where have YOU been?" I mean, where have people been when they haven't been where you've been? Somewhere else, I guess.
Philip with Avenue D and Tigra from "we're Tigra and Bunny and we like the boom!" fame. Seriously! I guess she's a promoter at Plaid now or something.
Philip's hand got all bloody from playing the guitar. Look at the blood smeared on the guitar. Punk Rock!
Post-show bloodiness.
BARR played too and I finally got to meet legendary awesome dude Brendon. We'd emailed before but I never met him in person till now. Everyone was asking me, how have you never met Brendon? And I was like, I dunno but I hear he's like the nicest, friendliest, most good-vibes guy in the world. And you know what, he totally was! We must have hugged like 20 times. He gives the best hugs. In fact, he is famous for his hugging abilities. Seriously, they're ridiculously good hugs. I'm sad he don't live here no more.
Slava's hot pic of Philip and Grant. If Philip weren't like a brother to me this would make me think very impure thoughts... Well, it kinda does anyway. Suzanne made the most incredible miniature diorama (supposed to be of Philip's house I guess?) complete with teeny tiny CDs and records and magazines. You can't tell from this picture, but to give you an idea of scale, the records are the size of quarters. Amazing.
Slava, John and Slava's boyfriend who has a really nice smile which made me blurt out, "you have a really nice smile!" and then I felt kinda embarrassed.
Giles and Anna are visiting from LA!
Kent, Renata and Steve. This picture is very Passerby circa 2001 for me.
Stefan and Pete and their matching "Sorry Mom" tattoos.
Kelly Kuvo (one of my total heroes) and Grant (not so bad himself)
Amy, Alanna and Mallory. Me and Meredith went to see Amy's tapestries at the Whitney-at-Altria space last week and they are so awesome, you should totally check em out.
Yoni and Wesleigh. Wesleigh's moving to Florida. I asked him why and he said "to dry out." Then he took a big swig off his whiskey. Good luck Wesleigh!
Oh there was a trampoline there too. (I have to stop smoking, it's ruining my pictures!)
So then I went to Misshapes and hey look! Brian's in town again!
I guess I could explain about the tux and the touching of Sara's boob and talk about how this looks like a hilarious prom picture, but instead I would like to take this opportunity to tell you how I feel about bowl haircuts, which is that the bowl haircut is the BEST HAIRCUT OF ALL TIME. I think every person should have a bowl haircut. Girls can also have the longer girl-version of a bowl haircut (as seen on Alanna a few pictures up).
Of course, this only works for straight hair so sadly, my poufy jew-fro prevents me from achieving true bowl-haired happiness. But I have decided to try bangs, so stay tuned for disaster!
Bye-ee!
