Gavin and Emily got engaged! I don't really know any married people so this should be exciting for me. Possibly for them too. They had a little "soiree" at their place and Ben got Gavin this, the most amazing sweater ever created. The tag says "100% Pure Garfield."
Later there was a birthday dance party at Scott's house for his birthday.
I'm afraid Ben's gonna put me on "Cho-bation" for this picture.
Everyone carved their name into Scott's table.
I suck at table carving. I have no patience.
Later I went to see High On Fire with Jesse.
We sat at Murphy's Law's table and almost got our asses kicked. (jk)
Incidentally, Murphy's Law was the first hardcore show I ever went to. It was on Friday the 13th, 1990. At the show, someone jumped onstage and maced the lead singer in the face. I was right in front so the mace residue got on my face too and it buuuuuuurned so bad. I was totally psyched cuz it was so "punk rock."
Was there a mosh pit? Oh yes.
Did a fight break out? You bet!
Erin was in the pit and got all banged up. Just kidding, I think she fell off a chair or something.
What did I do on new year's eve you ask? Why, I stayed in bed and read a book, naturally. It was fun! This book was so sweet. "The Perks of Being a Wallflower." It's about a sad teenage boy whose favorite song, incidentally, is "Asleep" by the Smiths. It made me cry and I was glad.
Song of the day:
"On The Road To Find Out" by Cat Stevens
I watched
Harold & Maude today and bawled my eyes out. I seem to have a touch of the melancholia...
Sometimes you have to moan
when nothing seems to suit you...
