Soundtrack: "Young Turks" - Rod Stewart

When I was in Japan I was given a new camera as a very kind and generous gift from my gracious

host. It is an interesting camera in that sometimes, for no apparent reason whatsoever, the flash creates

a blinding white light such as I have never seen before. It's a crapshoot, and it is endlessly fascinating.

In this case it was perfect though, because I went to a lovely house party at Garrick and Terence's

awesome new place in honor of Terence's new show at the Whitney (more New York mag coverage

here--goodness! Now there's a headline!) where everything is white and glowing and people were

crouched down on the floor in empty white rooms feasting on lobsters and gluten-free cupcakes.

Here are some of the pictures that came out the most normal...

Ryan and Abby

Gloria and Shawn, always the best dressed couple in the room.

Ryan in a Bruce sandwich.

Marc and Moet.

White peacock in a glass case in the middle of the living room.

Abby and Terence                                                                              Pretty salad still-life

And the terrifying lobster room.

I should mention now that I have a bit of a lobster phobia. Maybe it's because I grew up kosher so

I'm just not used to it, but lobsters (and all shellfish actually) just look like giant fucking bugs to me.

Like you're cracking open and slurping down a big fat roach. I mean, you guys, it has a frigging

EXOSKELETON. I just totally cannot deal with that. At all.

Holy shit. I'm trying not to freak out.

Blarggg! (and oh yeah, congratulations Terence!!)
